Patrick’s Special Story

Today we would like to offer our sincere thanks to Patrick Stoddart who has been a long-term supporter of Rowans Hospice Charity. Patrick makes an annual donation in memory of his wife Ann, who passed away on 20 December 2017. Although Ann was not cared for at the Hospice, Patrick has chosen to donate to the Charity due to the support he has received through the Charity’s Living Well Centre since his wife’s passing. Patrick has kindly shared a lasting memory of Ann with us: “whilst on holiday in Olu Deniz, Turkey, Ann told me that she was going to go paragliding; I told her that she was crazy and that she had cancer, but she reminded me that a consultant in QA hospital had told Ann to do what she can, while she could, and so Ann, to my amazement, and with the biggest smile that I have ever seen, jumped from the mountain in Olu Deniz.” Patrick went on to tell us, “one day out of the blue, Ann told me that she wanted to renew our wedding vows, which we did in St Jude’s Church in Southsea, in the company of our good friends, and family. My beautiful and loving wife Ann passed away on the 20 December 2017, and I miss her every day.” Thank you Patrick, for your very kind and generous donation of £650.00 this year and for allowing us to share these beautiful stories.
