A group of four people—three women and one man—pose together on an outdoor staircase. They are holding a large, bright green banner that reads "Rowans Hospice" in white lettering, featuring a stylized tree logo. Image Overview The Group: The individuals are smiling and positioned at different levels on the stairs. The woman on the far left wears a pink long-sleeved shirt, while the others are dressed in casual tones like grey and black. The Setting: They are standing on a dark metal staircase attached to a brick building. In the background, there are large windows reflecting the sky and a distinctive glass cupola or skylight on the roof. The Banner: A lime-green rectangular banner is draped over the handrail, clearly displaying the "Rowans Hospice" branding.

As a charity, Rowans Hospice relies on its amazing community of supporters to raise 78% of the £10 million needed each year to run our vital hospice services. From bake sales and charity golf days to gala dinners, our community goes above and beyond to help raise funds for our Hospice, ensuring that patients and families continue to receive compassionate end-of-life care.

One of our fantastic supporters is Julie Bishop.

Julie’s husband, Terry Moore, died at the Hospice in 2018. Since then, Julie, her family, and her husband’s friends have supported the Hospice and honoured his memory by organising a Memorial Charity Golf Day, raising over £26,000 to date.

Julie Bishop reflects:

“On Saturday, 18 October 2025, family and friends of my late husband Terry Moore, who spent his final days at the Rowans Hospice in July 2018, gathered together once again for the annual Memorial Charity Golf Day and Dinner Event, held in Terry’s name. Organised by Robert Jeffery and supported by Paul Whistler, who were both in the Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment with Terry, the fundraiser was held at the Delta Marriott Tudor Park Country Club in Kent.

The amount raised for the Rowans Hospice, through donations, raffles, sponsorship and auctions, was an almighty £5,000! A medium shot captures a group of nine people posing for a photo against a shimmering, black-and-silver sequined backdrop. The Group and Attire Central Figures: In the front center, a woman with blonde hair and a black sleeveless dress smiles warmly. To her left, another woman in a black V-neck dress and gold necklaces leans in toward the center. Men in the Group: Behind the central woman stands a man in a dark suit with a red tie and glasses. To the far right, a man with a grey beard wearing a light blue blazer smiles prominently in the foreground. Another man in a grey suit and blue tie is visible in the upper right. Other Guests: On the far left, a woman in a black dress stands next to a woman wearing a vibrant pink and green patterned top. A green balloon is visible in the upper left corner. Setting and Composition Backdrop: The background consists of vertical strands of sparkling lights or sequins, creating a festive, "photo booth" style atmosphere. Lighting: The lighting is bright and even, highlighting the faces and festive clothing of the attendees. Mood: The overall tone is celebratory and formal. Our thanks go out to all those who attended or contributed to this fundraiser. What an achievement!

This year’s event (2026) is to be held at the same place on Saturday, 10 October 2026, and we know that at least 50 people have already committed to attending. This is a tremendous way to remember Terry’s life and courage, whilst raising much needed money for the Hospice. Well done everyone and thank you so much!”
