Craft Supplies for a Cause: Donation of materials to raise funds for Rowans Hospice Charity.

Crafting is not only a fun and relaxing hobby, but it can also be a way to give back to the community and support local Hospice care. Recently, we received a donation of crafting supplies from very generous customers, Mr and Mrs Evans, in our Havant retail shop.

Mr Evans was concerned about how he would transport the large donation to our shop, we put his mind at rest and the donation was collected from his home.

To our surprise, it took three trips to collect the 50 crates of craft supplies! The donation included a scan and cut machine, an embossing machine, stamps, inks, cutters, card, toppers, and approximately 200 beautifully handmade cards. All of the card, stock and equipment came from a well-known crafting brand, indicating the high quality of the supplies.

Mrs Evans had taken up crafting, particularly card making, as a small business after retiring. Often travelling around the country doing craft fayres and whilst she never recouped any of the money spent on supplies, there was a great sense of purpose and something to do.

Unfortunately, Mrs Evans is now experiencing poor health and is unable to continue crafting but wanted to gift her supplies to the Charity, as it is special to the couple. We are grateful for such a wonderful act of kindness, generosity and willingness to support the Charity.

Crafting can bring joy and purpose to people’s lives, and it is heart-warming to see how it can also be used to support others. The donated supplies will be distributed across our Retail arm to be purchased by crafters across the community, and the funds raised will help us deliver compassionate end-of-life care to people living with life limiting illness across Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.

In conclusion, we want to express our gratitude to Mr and Mrs Evans for their thoughtful donation.
