A fab-u-lous evening!
After being postponed for three years due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Rowans Does Strictly live show finally went ahead on Saturday, 21 January 2023.
Preparations for the event began in 2020. At the time, more than 120 enthusiastic dancers applied to compete in the hope of winning the Glitterball trophy.
After a round of auditions, 14 talented contestants were selected to take part in a course of Ballroom and Latin dance lessons with the aim of demonstrating their skills in front of a panel of celebrity judges made up of Bessie Cursons, Emma Barton, and Ellesha Rolison, and an exhilarated live show audience.
Despite the event having been postponed twice, our Strictly Stars kept practicing, and attended bi-weekly dance lessons with David Keal and Christine Wilkes from the Keal School of Dancing and Instep Dance Club.
So many individuals helped us bring this long-awaited event to life: We are very grateful to our celebrity judges Bessie Cursons, Emma Barton, and Ellesha Rolison for sharing their knowledge and expertise with us on the evening. David and Christine, our fabulous dance teachers also played a huge role, with the many hours of dance lessons they offered to our Strictly Stars, helping them perfect every step.
Of course, we also could not be have put on the show without our 14 immensely talented and dedicated Strictly Stars, who trained hard since 2020 to impress the audience with their much-anticipated performances.
We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who attended the evening or donated to support Rowans Hospice Charity.
The show was a huge success, raising in excess of £8,000 for the Charity!
