A recent survey carried out by Censuswide for The British Heart Foundation revealed that 33% of the country will be shopping with Charity shops this year. With the cost of living and the environmental challenges constantly in the news headlines, there is no doubt we are all looking for ways to make our money go further and help the environment.
Christmas shopping in our Retail Charity shops and/or our eBay and Depop shops will not only save you money, it will also reduce landfill and support local Hospice care. Every pound raised will help those people in our community who are living with a life-limiting illness. Our 18 Charity Retail Shops are treasure troves of undiscovered delights and affordable gifts at a fraction of high street prices, so here is a handy guide to help you have a wonderful Christmas time.
The Lead Up To The Big Day
Christmas Cards – Browse the fantastic range of traditional or fun Christmas cards available to purchase in our High Street shops, our Shop Locator will help you find your nearest Rowans Hospice Charity Shop. Maybe you would prefer to send an economical Christmas card via email? Please visit our Don’t Send Me A Card page where you can choose e-Cards to be emailed, and donate the cost of cards and stamps to the Charity.
Deck The Halls – You can find some truly unique Christmas decorations in our shops just waiting for a new tree to adorn. Alternatively, our Cowplain Craft Shop is a den of crafting delights and has all you need to make your own decorations. Perhaps your storage boxes that hold your decorations are getting a bit tatty, our bric-a-brac sections may have the storage solutions you are looking for.
Christmas Parties – Our shops have a fantastic range of womenswear, menswear, and all you need for the party season. You will be the belle of the ball and your purchases will be supporting the future of local Hospice care.
Secret Santa gift? – Show your colleagues that second-hand does not mean second-best by selecting your Secret Santa gift from one of our shops. How about a vintage tea cup with a packet of flower seeds for a homemade garden planter gift? Or a cocktail shaker and glass for someone who enjoys a tipple?

New-to-you pyjamas – perfect for a ‘stay at home’ day and if you are snuggling up on the sofa to watch a Christmas film why not add a cosy blanket. Not only will you be supporting local Hospice care, you can also save money by turning your heating down. Don’t forget some pre-loved bowls for the popcorn!
