Ward Volunteers
At Rowans Hospice, we honour life and offer hope by providing specialist end of life care of the highest quality. We guide patients and those closest to them through the journey of their illness, supporting them every step of the way.
Our ward Volunteers provide a fundamental service to our patients by ensuring that their needs are met through delivering food and refreshments throughout the day. Without the support of our volunteers this service would fall to the clinical staff which would take them away from providing clinical care.
Shift times:
Wednesday 4.30pm-7.30pm
Thursday 4.30pm- 7.30pm
Friday 4.30pm-7.30pm
We also require ward volunteers to cover the periods when we have no cover, such as holiday cover. This can sometimes be at short notice.
Experience would be desirable, however full training will be given.
Rowans Hospice is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all vulnerable adults needing our care and support. Subsequently, our recruitment process is thorough, ensuring a consistent and detailed approach to gather information from and about candidates so that all persons appointed are suitable to work with vulnerable adults.
