Our 2023 Moonlit Memories Walk has now ended – thank you to all our supporters who made the event such a success!
We will shortly announce the total amount of funds raised.
Donations are still accepted via our JustGiving page until Thursday, 31 August 2023.
We are delighted that the much-loved Rowans Hospice Charity Moonlit Memories Walk will be returning on Saturday, 20 May 2023.
Moonlit Memories is a sponsored walk under the night sky to remember a loved one whilst taking in the iconic sights of Portsmouth and Southsea, and raising much-needed funds for local Hospice care.
This unique experience begins at 20:00 hrs where we will meet on Castle Field, Southsea to warm up with some fantastic entertainment. Join in as an individual or get a group of friends together and join as a team…everyone aged 11 years and above is welcome.
Choose from a 6- or 10-mile walk, breathing in the sea air, and then wow at the wonder of the HMS Warrior, which is a true spectacle by moonlight. Our wonderful friends at Portsmouth Cathedral will also be opening the Cathedral doors to welcome you in to light a candle and spend a few moments reflecting and remembering loved ones.
Your route will finish back at Castle Field where you will receive your participation medal and can enjoy a complimentary breakfast bap and a hot drink to warm you up.
We are asking everybody who participates in the Moonlit Memories Walk to pledge to generate a minimum of £100 sponsorship or make a one-off donation to support the Charity. We appreciate for some, this is a challenge, however, every £1 of sponsorship is important to us and all income generated through the Moonlit Memories Walk will be supporting the future of local Hospice care.
The easiest way to collect sponsorship for charity events is to set up a JustGiving fundraising page. It is quick to do, easy to share your story, and simple to receive donations. Any money raised on your fundraising page will be automatically sent to us on a weekly basis, so you do not have to worry about collecting money or sponsorship forms.
To create your own fundraising page, visit our Moonlit Memories Walk JustGiving page and select “Start Fundraising.”
If you would like to raise money offline, you can download a sponsorship form here. Please return your form and monies after the event.
Everyone aged 11 years and over is welcome to register and join us for the Moonlit Memories Walk. This event is an opportunity for our local community to come together for a fun evening to generate income for the Charity as well as an opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one.
Please note anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Dogs are welcome to come along, however, must be kept on a lead at all times and please remember to scoop the poop.
