At Living Well, we understand how precious memories are.

A memory box offers patients and families a tender way to gather meaningful items, stories, and keepsakes that reflect a life lived with love, humour, and individuality.

Creating a memory box is entirely optional. Some families find it deeply comforting; others prefer different ways of honouring memories. Whatever feels right for you, we’re here to support you.

If you’d like to explore this option or simply learn more, please speak to a member of our care team by calling 02392 248011 or email LWC@rowanshospice.co.uk.

How We Support You
Our team is here to help gently guide the process if you wish.
We can provide:

• A box to decorate or personalise
• Materials such as paper, pens, and craft supplies
• Ideas and prompts if you’re unsure where to begin

What is a Memory Box?
A memory box is a personalised collection of items that hold emotional significance. It might include:

• Photographs
• Letters or cards, including poems, quotes and messages from loved ones
• Small personal objects
• A recorded story or handwritten note
We have plenty of ideas and options to explore with you. There is no right or wrong way to create one — it’s entirely yours.

Why Create One?
A memory box can:

• Offer comfort and connection for family and friends
• Help share stories with future generations
• Provide a meaningful activity for patients and loved ones to do together
• Celebrate identity, milestones, and cherished moments
