Make a Will Month

You should consider writing or updating your Will if:

• Your finances have changed – Perhaps you have bought a property, started a business or your financial circumstances have changed. Make sure your Will still reflects what you own and who you would like to benefit.
• Your relationships have changed – Getting married or entering into a civil partnership, separating or divorcing, or experiencing the death of someone named in your Will can all mean your wishes need to be reviewed.
• You have had children or grandchildren – make sure your children are looked after if something happens to you
• You are living with a partner but are not married or in a civil partnership – Your partner may not automatically inherit your estate, so it is important to make sure your wishes are clearly recorded.
• It has been a while since you last looked at your Will – Even if nothing major has changed, your circumstances and wishes may have. Taking a few minutes to review your Will can give you peace of mind that it still reflects what matters to you.
