The location of the walk changes each month but will be within 15-20 minutes’ drive of the hospice.

Can I bring a friend with me?

The group is not open to the general public. People attending the walk must be registered for the walk and be bereaved of someone who was cared for by Rowans Hospice services.

I cannot walk long distances; can I attend the walking group?

We understand that people with mobility issues, including wheelchair users, may wish to attend the walking group for companionship and emotional support following bereavement. However, as this is a walking group, attendees need to be able to take part in the planned route and pace of the walk. Please note that some routes may not be fully wheelchair accessible.

If you require someone to support or assist you during the walk, we ask that you attend with your own companion or carer, as group leaders are unable to provide individual support.

People attend the walking group at their own risk and are responsible for their own wellbeing. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell or have been advised not to participate in physical activity.
