STS Defence Charity Golf Marathon raises an amazing £1,395 for Rowans Hospice
On Tuesday, 24 June 2025, Robert, Pete, Steve and Alex from STS Defence took on an incredible charity golf fundraiser for Rowans Hospice. In just one day, the team played four full rounds of golf across four different Hampshire golf courses, raising an incredible £1,395 in support of Rowans Hospice.
The Golf Marathon Challenge
Beginning the day at 5:00am at Cams Hall Golf Club, the team battled the early morning winds on the immaculate course, the team teed off with a birdie and completed their first round six under par, kicking off their “longest golf day challenge” with a very strong start.
After a quick dash, the team arrived at Boundary Lakes Golf Club for their 9:00am tee time, with some stunning views but tough elevation changes, they were up for a difficult second round. Ending the course with five under par, they managed to bring their running total to eleven under par after two rounds.
Heading into the second half of the day at 1:00pm, there was a slow start at Wickham Park Golf Club, though after some well-deserved snacks, drinks, and a quick change into the lucky Rowans Hospice t-shirts, they bought it back for the last nine and the team ended the round seven under par – an impressive 18 under overall.
Concluding their “longest golf day challenge” at 5:00pm, they reached Skylark Golf and Country Club for the last leg of the marathon. Fatigue was setting in after 15-hours of play, but with a huge eagle putt from Alex, the team rallied to finish four under par. Their grand total: 22 under par across four courses!
