From eating well, to exercise, managing symptoms and more, our therapeutic group programmes will help people develop their own 'tool box' of strategies for living with the uncertainty and often fluctuating nature of their life-limiting illness.

How to Book

Please enquire in person at the Living Well Centre reception or call 023 9224 8011 to book onto any of the following programmes:

When? Tuesdays 1.30-2.30 pm, for 6 weeks. 

A 6-week group programme aimed at helping people (and their carers) to manage living with breathlessness. Each session is led by a qualified therapist for a maximum of 12 people.

The programme covers: the Respiratory System; Mechanics of Breathing; Coping Mechanisms; Exercise and Pacing; Diet and Medications; and Relaxation.

When? Monday and Wednesday mornings, 11.30-12.30 via a referral to physio. Led by a qualified therapist. You need to make an appointment with the physiotherapist beforehand. 

A six week supervised exercise programme aimed at supporting people who are living with life-limiting illness.

The aim is to promote exercise in a supervised setting at a pace to suit each individual with a personally tailored exercise programme.  For this reason a physiotherapy assessment is required before commencing the programme.

A maximum of 8 people can attend each group.

When? Tuesday afternoons 2.45-3.54pm, and on Friday mornings 10-11am. 

A drop-in group for people who would like the opportunity to keep active.  

Each session offers the opportunity to exercise with other people in an enjoyable setting.

Therapist-led sessions will be an hour in length and can accommodate a maximum of 12 people.

When? A six-week rolling programme.

This programme is designed to support people who are living with life limiting illness and their carers. A maximum of 12 people can attend per session, and there is no pre-assessment required.

People do not need to attend all the 6 weeks, rather you can attend any session that you think would be useful.

The programme will cover:

  • Stress and Anxiety
  • Fatigue
  • Sleep and Diet
  • Exercise
  • Non-Pharmacological Management of Pain, and
  • Relaxation

When? Runs on Fridays, 10:30am to 12 noon

The Enjoy Eating for Health programme is a 4 week course run by a qualified dietitian. Each session will accommodate up to 20 people and run for 1½ hours and will help equip you to make positive changes.

When? The programme runs on Wednesdays 1 - 3pm.

This is a 6 week pottery course to include sessions on: tactile pots, pinch pots, painting tiles and finishing touches. Please call us or drop in to book.
