Congratulations

We were delighted to read the announcement of a New Year’s Honour recognition to David Nesbit, BEM for his services to charity and the local community.

David, local Estate Agent and Director of Nesbits Auctioneers and Appraisers served as a Trustee for the newly established Rowans Hospice Charity from October 1996 until November 2005; steering the Charity through its formative years and bringing expertise in property management and rentals that was of specific benefit to the development and growth of the Charity’s Retail arm.

Silver Jubilee Appeal

During 2018 and 2019 David and the wonderful team at Nesbits supported the Charity’s Silver Jubilee Appeal during celebrations and fundraising to complete the major refurbishment of the In-patient Unit.

The innovation that was co-designed by David and those working in Charity’s Income Generation team was promoted through Portsmouth News, raising over £10,000 from collecting, valuing, and selling public donations of unwanted silver.

Nesbits Salerooms Appraisers and staff reviewed all donated items and their recommendations then determined whether the item would be sold in an auction, in our Retail shops or sold to a specialist silver collector.

Nesbits also kept all donations safe and secure on their premises and ran a couple of specialist ‘silver lots’ at the Auction House in Clarendon Road, Southsea to maximise the return for the Charity’s Appeal.

Continued Support

To this day David remains an Emeritus Trustee, recognising his contribution to Rowans over many decades and we continue to welcome him to events and celebrations for those who were instrumental in developing the Charity in the formative years.
