VOLUNTEER SERVICES MANAGER
(£40,000 approx depending on experience)
37.5 hours per week
The Rowans Hospice Charity is an independent organisation offering specialist palliative care to patients with life limiting disease, located in Waterlooville, Hampshire.
As a Charity, we offer opportunities for palliative support to patients and their families over an extensive range of in-patient and out-patient services; we pride ourselves on our excellent care for patients, their families, our staff and volunteers. We have an opportunity available to join our team as The Volunteer Services Manager, this role is part of the People Services Team which is headed up by the Head of HR and responsible to the CEO. The role is based at Rowans Hospice, Purbrook.
Your responsibility is to maximise resourcing and recruiting a volunteer workforce from the local community to support the work of the hospice. Our current and expanding diverse workforce of volunteers support paid employees in various ways such as our Hospice Companions who offer time to support patients in their own home; Veteran Companions who offer support and a listening ear to combat loneliness and social isolation and In-Patient Support Workers who provide a valuable service to the Clinical Professionals with patients delivering an excellent standard of care and service. You will also have responsibility for resourcing and selecting volunteers to our Income Generation teams including 16 retail shops.
