The Rowans Hospice Charity is an independent organisation offering specialist palliative care to patients with life limiting disease, located in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

As a Charity, we offer opportunities for palliative support to patients and their families over an extensive range of in-patient and out-patient services; we pride ourselves on our excellent care for patients, their families, our staff and volunteers. The Hospice is proud to have been rated as outstanding in the latest CQC inspection.

An opportunity has arisen to join our Physiotherapy team at Rowans Hospice Charity as a qualified Physiotherapist.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high standard of physiotherapy to patients on the In-Patient Unit and to people attending the Living Well Centre. Key responsibilities will be to undertake assessments and plan treatment programmes for individuals across a broad range of palliative diagnoses including respiratory, neurological, oncology and mobility. This will also include implementing guidance on safely moving and handling patients.  You will help supervise physio technicians, students and volunteers within the rehabilitation team.

We are seeking an experienced State Registered Physiotherapist with demonstrated practical experience who is a member to the Association of Physiotherapists in Oncology and Palliative Care. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership skills and use of a palliative care approach to patient care, along with communication and interpersonal skills, with sound management and decision-making which are key to this role.

In addition to an enjoyable working environment with a Charity that makes such a difference to so many people, we offer:

  • NHS pension will be retained if transferring from the NHS
  • Regular in-house education clinics
  • Free hot drinks and subsidised hot/cold meals menu
  • Free Parking at the Hospice (subject to availability)
  • Employee Assistance Programme available
  • Continuous service recognised if transferring from NHS
