I first encountered Hospice care in 1986 and immediately realised that I had found something very special. At that time, I was a junior nurse and eager to learn how to support people who were living with life-limiting and progressive illnesses. Now, and despite the passage of time, the passion I felt for this specialism has not diminished. I am so proud to lead an incredible team of professionals in the development and refinement of high-quality professional services to support the people of Portsmouth and South East Hampshire. As a Charity that is reliant on voluntary income, I have felt humbled by the incredible generosity of local people, even at times such as this, when financial austerity impacts us all.
