Light Up a Life is a cherished series of community events held by hospices across the country during the festive season. Christmas is a time to come together, to celebrate, and to make new memories with those we hold dear. It’s also a time for quiet reflection, and is an opportunity to remember those we’ve lost but who remain forever in our hearts.
On Sunday, 14 December 2025, Rowans Hospice will host the Lake of Lights at Canoe Lake, Southsea. This special gathering brings together our community, volunteers, and families touched by our care to light candles in loving memory of those no longer with us.
The evening is open to everyone, whether or not you have been supported by Rowans Hospice.
On Sunday, 14 December 2025, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, you are invited to Canoe Lake, Southsea to light a candle in memory of someone you miss.
As each flame gently floats across the water, the lake transforms into a shimmering Lake of Lights, a peaceful tribute to love, joy, and quiet, personal reflection.
Snacks and refreshments available to purchase from Canoe Lake Café, and we would recommend wearing warm, comfortable clothing on the evening.
More information coming soon, keep an eye on our social media or check back here in a few weeks time.
