Christmas Tree Collections Raise Over £10,000 for Rowans Hospice

On Thursday, 8 and Friday, 9 January we carried out Christmas Tree Collections across Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport, Hayling Island and Waterlooville, raising over £10,000, in partnership with national charity Just Helping.
With the help of 52 volunteers, this years’ collection saw a total of 641 real Christmas trees collected, helping local families recycle their tree hassle-free and raising much needed funds for the Hospice.
Thank you for supporting
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the Christmas Tree collections.
- Lakeside North Harbour for the space to park and meet all the volunteers
- KINTO UK for lending us 10 vans and volunteers for both days
- TJ Waste for the skips and site to dispose of the trees
- Michael Reed & Co for chipping all the collected Christmas trees
- To all our volunteers, including RSM UK, Bell Integration, Havant Sheet Metal, NHS Property Services, Save Energy UK, Key 2 Group, Fareport Training, Jay Waste and Metal, HMRC.
- Penny Buildings & Maintenance Services and Eco Upcycle Clearence for offering vans and volunteers for Saturday, in case we needed them.
Thank you to everyone who booked their Christmas Tree collection with us, and to everyone supported in any way.
How the Funds Will Help
Raising over £10,000 will enable these funds to go directly towards the free care and support provided by Rowans Hospice to patients and families across Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.
In addition, 15% of the funds raised will also be donated to another local charity, Key to Joy.
Key to Joy enables their members to contribute to society in ways that were previously unattainable. They give adults with learning difficulties and neurodiversity the tools to reach their full potential, and experience joy in the process.
