Community Support

It costs over £5.8 million every year to provide our essential services. This would be impossible without the fantastic fundraising support we get from the people and communities of Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.

Only 15% of the funds we need each year comes from the NHS. Everything else is from your generous donations and fundraising efforts.

How do people in the local community support the Hospice?

Individual Fundraising

Every year hundreds of individuals fundraise for us. From skydiving to running a marathon; wearing a silly wig to a sponsored swim, your options for fundraising for the hospice are endless! See our listed events and get involved today!

Or, if you want to organise your own activity or event, we’re here to help! We’ve lots of event ideas to help you get started, practical tips to help in the planning of your event and fundraising tips to help you raise as much money as possible.

Group Fundraising

Alternatively, you may prefer to fundraise as part of a group, with friends, family or work colleagues. Each year we receive tremendous support from golf club days, office fun days, pub quiz nights, the WI and other community groups. Group fundraising is rewarding in so many ways. It’s sociable and a great way to meet new people.

Rowans Hospice Support Groups

Rowans Hospice has eleven Support Groups which hold regular events such as coffee mornings, fairs, skittles evenings and plant sales. If you’re interested in getting involved, please go to join a Support Group.
