Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course

Dr Anna Jepson, Clinical Psychologist, Specialist Palliative Care Psychology Service, Rowans Hospice.

A nine session course; Mindfulness is about becoming more aware from moment to moment and provides a way to experience yourself and the world around you with non-judgemental awareness. With a long pedigree, mindfulness has been used very successfully in many health care settings and has been validated through numerous research trials.

10.30am - 12.30pm

Note: A morning of silent practice will be made available on Saturday 11th November 9.30am - 1pm, this will take place in the Seminar room in the main Hospice building rather than Rowans Living Well Centre. This provides a valuable opportunity to depending your practice.

£160 per person to include all course materials including CDs and a workbook

Target Audience

These courses are suitable for anyone. Some of the reasons people attend the course include learning to relate differently to stress or physical problems or to learn more about themselves and how they relate to the world.

Course Information

The course consists of an orientation session and then eight 2-hour sessions with daily home practice of up to 45 minutes. You will be provided with all course materials. Getting the most out of the course will require some work on your part. It requires a strong commitment to work on yourself through a gentle but rigorous daily discipline of mindfulness practice. Making the commitment to devote time needed for this personal exploration can feel difficult, but most people find it worthwhile.
