Dedicated to Hospice care for local people
The Rowans Hospice is a local charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with life-limiting illnesses. Established since 1994, we support, directly and indirectly, more than 9,000 patients and families across Portsmouth and South East Hampshire every year. We provide our services free from discrimination and free of charge, but each year it costs more than £9 million to continue our vital work.
Would you like to help us in our endeavours?
We have a strong and committed group of Trustees and Non-Executive Directors, who include a cross-section of people with substantial and varied professional expertise, and experience in hospice, health and social care, and other professions. They collectively have responsibility for the Governance of the Hospice and its strategic direction, working closely with the Rowans Hospice Executive Director team.
The Rowans Hospice Board of Trustees meets six times a year and in addition, they are involved in Governance Groups that meet four times a year in relation to: Clinical Services; Ethics; Human Resources and Learning & Development; Income Generation (Marketing, Fundraising and Retail); Estates and Facilities; IT and compliance; Finance and Audit.
We are able to offer funded Governance training to Trustees and whilst these positions are voluntary and unremunerated, legitimate expenses including travel to meetings can be paid.
If you would like to apply, we would ask that you initially submit your CV with a brief explanation in relation to your interest in becoming a Trustee; this should be emailed to lisa.hoare@rowanshospice.co.uk.
