HR Manager

Salary:  £35,000 p.a.   Hours: 37.5 hours p.w.

We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Manager to join the HR team here at Rowans Hospice Charity.  The HR team is responsible for providing a HR service to Retail, Clinical and Business Support Services. The candidate will need expertise and extensive experience of leading and developing all transactional HR practices and process.

The role will lead the HR team so as to achieve the delivery of a comprehensive function that effectively supports the complete employment lifecycle of employees and volunteers. The role holder will use a business partnership model with line manager colleagues across Retail, Clinical and Business Support Services and will report to the Director of People Services.

The successful candidate will ideally be:

  • Qualified to CIPD Level 7 or working towards.
  • An experienced HR practitioner with a minimum of 5 years’ HR experience.
  • An experienced line manager and able to effectively manage a team of three members.
  • An experienced influencer of best practice in relation to policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Up to date knowledge of current and impending employment law.
  • Experienced in using HR computerised systems with excellent excel skills.
  • Solution focused with good interpersonal skills.
  • Logical in approach to HR services with the ability to identify and streamline processes.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise, manage to deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
