Our Light up a Life service takes place during December at Canoe Lake, Southsea. It gives those who have lost loved ones the opportunity to come together, to remember and cherish the many happy memories of their lives.
At this special family service lights will be floated on Canoe Lake to make a Lake of Lights to represent all those who are being remembered.
The Rowans Hospice welcomes anyone who is bereaved, not just those who have had contact with the hospice.
Additional candles will be available on the night in return for a small donation.
- £100 enables one of our nurses to make a home visit to a patient.
- £50 will provide a bereavement counselling session to a child or adult.
- £20 enables a patient to receive a relaxing therapy session.
- £10 will enable a Day Care patient to create something special, which will be treasured by friends and family.
By remembering someone special, you will be supporting your local hospice.
The Light up a Life service usually commences at 5.45pm and includes carols and readings. The service is led by our Spiritual Care Chaplain and is supported by local choirs and bands.
