Gift Aid is a scheme controlled and regulated by HMRC. This enables charities like Rowans Hospice to claim back, from donors tax contributions, 25p for every £1 donated, at no additional cost to the donor.
We can use this extra income to make donations worth more to everyone that uses our services.
If you are a UK taxpayer and have paid a sufficient amount of tax to cover any Gift Aid claimed on their donations in each tax year (6 April to 5 April) then we will be able to claim Gift Aid in the following ways:
- Gift Aid – on your gifts of money
- Retail – on items that you donate to one of our shops
- Sponsorship – your sponsorship form includes a simple declaration and a tick-box to enable us to reclaim the tax on each donation at no extra cost to your sponsors. The form must include your sponsor’s first name, surname, house number and postcode, for them to tick the Gift Aid box and you to put the date they give you their money.
