Opportunities that currently need fulfilling:

The Veterans service provides support to veterans and their families within our local community who are living with a serious life limiting illness.

We aim to offer support within their own homes or place of residence.

This is a unique opportunity for individuals to join this exciting service and truly make a difference to someone’s day.  As a Veterans Companion you would visit clients in their own homes to provide companionship as well as possibly a range of small practical tasks such as supporting with catching up on the news by reading a newspaper, helping with the weekly food shop, prepare a meal, or escort out for a coffee at a nearby café to chat. Or most importantly be a listening ear.

No experience is necessary; however some connection or experience with the Armed Forces would be desirable.  You will possess good communication and listening skills.  It is important that you are able to work independently but with guidance and support from the Project Lead and to recognise your own boundaries and the limitations of the role.

Full training will be provided and out of pocket expenses will be paid.

Car driver essential.
