Opportunities that currently need fulfilling:

Rowans Retail is proud to support the Rowans Hospice by providing a reliable source of income, enabling support to the community when it matters most.

 

Come and be a part of our amazing team of shop volunteers whilst supporting your local hospice. If you are cheerful, friendly, flexible and can spare a few hours during the week or the weekend, we would love to hear from you. You can make new friends, gain valuable work experience and really make a difference by contributing to an income stream for the Rowans Hospice. We are very flexible with hours and you can choose the hours to suit you. No experience is necessary as training will be given.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Sales Assistants who want to use their customer service skills in a very fast moving retail environment. Responsibilities include processing stock donations and providing great customer service to the highest standard. As well as sorting through and organising our donations to find items suitable for creating exciting displays or perhaps develop new areas.

Our warehouse team sell items on-line and though our retail shops to raise funds for Rowans Hospice.

 

We are looking for people to pack items that have been sold on the internet and provide administrative assistance which will include answering the telephone to member of the public wishing to arrange collections.

 

We are looking for applicants who are:

  • Organised
  • Are thorough and pay attention to detail
  • Take pride in securing customers purchases
  • Have basic IT skill to print of delivery notes, invoices etc
  • Good telephone manner

There are many opportunities available for you to donate your time and make a difference. As a volunteer you will take receipt of clothing and bric a brac donations, sorting stock appropriately ready for distribution to our shops. Working in a friendly environment and offering the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

 

You will need to possess the following requirements for the role:-

  • good communication skills
  • able to stand for long periods at a time
  • able to lift and shift medium to heavy loads
  • identify damaged items both clothing and hard stock
  • be a team player within the Volunteering team
  • able to work on your own initiative in accordance to Warehouse processes

 

Whatever amount of time you can give, we can work around you.

Do you want to make a big difference to our patients and help someone to feel much better about themselves?

 

We will offer you a beautiful volunteering environment and support from our staff and volunteers. Your clients will be Hospice patients who maybe an in-patient on the ward or visiting our Day Care or Living Well Centre.  Our patients may not have had the opportunity to visit a hairdresser for some time.

 

 We are looking for:

  • a fully qualified and experienced hairdresser / barber
  • a reliable, professional and friendly team player
  • a good communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • a good listener with empathetic qualities

Come and bring your dog so that you can both become a part of an amazing volunteer team and make a difference.

 

Our PAT Dogs provide a therapeutic service to our patients during difficult times. You and your dog will visit patients on the ward, Day Care and Living Well Centre.  Your visit will give a welcome distraction to our patients, their families and visitors during their time at the Hospice.

 

Your dog will need to be accredited by the PAT Dog Association.  We welcome all breeds of dog.  It is essential that you have a warm and friendly manner.

We will offer you a beautiful volunteering environment and support from our staff and volunteers. Your clients will be Hospice patients who maybe an in-patient on the ward or visiting our Day Care or Living Well Centre.  Our patients may not have had the opportunity in recent times to benefit from your skills, relax and take time out for themselves.

 

 We are looking for:

  • a fully qualified and experienced therapists i.e. reflexology, massage, beauty
  • a reliable, professional and friendly team player
  • a good communicator with excellent customer service skills
  • a good listener with empathetic qualities

We are looking for people to provide administrative assistance to our support services which could include all areas of general administration.

 

We are looking for applicants who are:

- Organised

- Have basic IT

- Good telephone manner
