Full Time, 11 sessions per week including on-call work, although Job Share or Part Time hours will be considered.
Salary based on Specialty Doctor Scale MC46-01
Post available for an immediate start for a 12 month fixed term period.
This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor on any career path who wishes to gain experience and skills in specialist palliative medicine. You will join a friendly and well supported multi-professional team, committed to high standards of care. Rowans Hospice provides specialist support to adults with any diagnosis in Portsmouth and South Eastern Hampshire.
Rowans Hospice works in partnership with our two community Trusts to offer community, day and in-patient specialist services. While this is a service post to assist the consultants and established Specialty and Associate Specialist doctors with an increasingly complex and intense caseload, there will be excellent support for personal development.
The post will form part of the Hospice on-call rota (a 4% availability supplement is payable). The rota is non-resident, and provides cover for Rowans Hospice in-patient unit 1 in 5 including weekends, with senior supervision available at all times. We regret that on-call accommodation cannot be provided; doctors are required to remain within one hour’s travelling distance at all times whilst on-call.
Suitable candidates will have at least six months’ experience of General Medicine in the UK and in total at least twelve months’ post-Foundation experience; experience of General Practice would be an advantage.
Applicants must be eligible for full registration with the GMC. Non UK / EEA applicants should ensure that they are aware of the current immigration rules for Postgraduate Doctors and Dentists. For further information on how this may affect your application please visit www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk.
For further information on this post please contact Dr N Davies firstname.lastname@example.org or on telephone 023 9225 0001.
Rowans Hospice is committed to ensuring that, as far as is reasonably practical, the way we provide services to the public and the way we treat our staff reflects their individual needs and does not discriminate against individuals or groups on any grounds.
