Schools & Colleges

Every year hundreds of children and young people are recently bereaved or living with a family member with a life-limiting illness. Help us to be there for them by getting your staff and school, college or community group fundraising for The Rowans Hospice.

We work alongside children, young people and their families by providing a wide range of support through Family Services and Rowan’s Meerkat Service. 

We are extremely grateful to the many school pupils, students and youth groups who fundraise on our behalf each year. We couldn’t provide our vital services without you!

Different ways to get involved 

At school:

Holding an event at your school is an excellent way to get staff and pupils talking about how we support children and young people. You could hold a talent show or fundraise by recycling Whatever you do, we can provide you with posters, collecting tins and balloons. 

At college and university:

From fashion shows to Rag Week collections, fundraising for us is a great way to raise awareness of the work we do. We’ve got lots of fundraising ideas and we’ll support you with plenty of goodies to make your event a success.  

With your community group:

Whether you’re a Brownie, Guide, Scout or Sea Cadet, or you belong to a church group or youth club, we welcome your support. Holding an event for us is a terrific way to get your members to have fun and help others at the same time. 

Fundraising can provide a great sense of achievement. We know you’ll have lots of laughs and plenty to talk about on Facebook! Don’t forget we also have our own latest events that you can take part in. 

Other ways you can help us 

Many young people volunteer with us or you could get your group to help us out with leaflet drops, distribute our charity bags or donate to our shops. If bargain hunting is your thing why not shop with us and if you’re 16 or over you can join our Lottery. 

Whatever you do, don’t forget to send us your photos! Tell us your stories, too, so we can shout out your achievements and encourage others to do the same.
