Moonlit Memories Walk

Welcome to the official site for The Rowans Hospice Moonlit Memories Walk.

This year's walk took place on Saturday 20th June 2015 with over 800 people walking around Southsea and helping to raise vital funds for The Rowans Hospice.

The event was amazing with wonderful weather. Thank you to everyone who took part and also our team of volunteers. Visit our Facebook page to see some of the photos taken on the night.

"The care that The Rowans Hospice showed my late husband and our family was better than we could have dreamt of. I'm doing the walk for him and for anyone else that's suffering. That's what it's all about."

Remember someone special at the biggest local night-time charity walk

Dave and Emma Thornbury find a novel way to celebrate their birthdays with The Moonlit Memories Walk 2015

"I am walking with my wife Emma and we set ourselves a challenge of doing 30 different/exciting/challenging/new things in the year of our 30th birthday. Admittedly she is doing much better at keeping track of these things than me although we have done a lot of them together.’

The list is certainly diverse and more importantly, great fun; it includes a helicopter ride over... Niagara Falls, Going home with a profit from the casino, seeing a live performance at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, have breakfast at West Witterings beach and completing the 12 mile moonlight walk for The Rowans Hospice.
Dave says,’ We’ve never done anything like this so wanted to ease ourselves in with a walk instead of a marathon! We are from Fareham and so wanted to do something nearby that helps us get fit and raises money for a really good cause at the same time.’

‘I think the reason we chose this walk is because it is something a bit different. The fact that it is at night was a big attraction and the length of the walk is ideal; the fact it raises money for a local charity is a bonus."
