Support for Carers

Support for carers

If you are a relative, family member or friend looking after someone with a life-limiting illness, then you are a carer.

In the UK around half a million people provide unpaid care for those with life-limiting illnesses.

Many find caring a rewarding role but it can also be hard work and stressful. It can affect your job, finances, social life and personal well-being. Extending support to carers is a key part of our philosophy of care.

The kind of support we can offer includes:

Each year we take part in Carers Week, a national initiative which recognises and celebrates the huge contribution made by carers to society. During the event we offer a programme of activities in Day Care and The Heath Centre designed to reach out to carers and ensure they appropriately supported.
