Specialist Social Worker
30 hours per week
One year fixed term contract – maternity cover to commence October 2015
We are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Social Worker to provide support to adults and their families facing life limiting illness. The role is rewarding but also complex and demanding; you will need to be resourceful and resilient. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and other services within the community.
You will need to demonstrate post-qualification experience, ideally two years and hold current HCPC registration.

Volunteer Trainee Counselling Supervisor
We are seeking a trainee counselling supervisor for a group clinical supervision of our nursing staff. Applicants must be an experienced counsellor qualified to Diploma Level and a member of BACP, working towards supervision to diploma level, together with experience in supervising groups.
Experience of working in a health care setting would be advantageous.
The post holder will take responsibility for the provision and delivery of clinical supervision sessions to both trained nurses and health care support workers, to enhance their professional development.
We welcome someone who can demonstrate an open and flexible approach which will underpin and support best practice.
The post holder’s clinical practice will meet the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice.
Sessions will be held monthly, potentially three closed groups:
• 2 nursing - 12 in each
• 1 clinical admin - 8 in each

Group Member required for The Rowans Hospice Ethics Executive Group (unremunerated)
The Rowans Hospice is searching for a member of the public with an interest in Ethics and Research, and with the time to be part of The Rowans Hospice Ethics Executive Group (EEG).
The EEG is made up of members from various backgrounds in research, medicine, nursing, education, spiritual support, psychology, and those with an interest in ethical questions and research.
The Rowans Hospice Ethics Executive Group (EEG) exists to:
• advise the Board of Trustees with regard to ethical practice within The Rowans Hospice in relation to clinical practice and research
• support and challenge clinical staff in the discussion and exploration of ethical issues
• discuss and analyse the ethical implications for all research proposals
• advise the Board of Trustees on the ethical dimension of policy making
• contribute to the protection of the good name of The Rowans Hospice
• facilitate and encourage ethical research aimed at the advancement of palliative care, treatment and continuing care
• protect and promote the interests of patients and staff of the Hospice and others, including relatives and carers, who have been identified as potential research subjects
• support the Clinical Quality Strategy Group
• review and approve Research Policy/Guidelines
We are looking for someone to join the EEG who has an interest in research and who is willing to support the hospice in the ethical discussions that The Hospice needs guidance on.
