The Mayor & Mayoress of Havant, Councillor Ken Smith and Mrs Hazel Smith, request the pleasure of your company at their Coffee Morning to raise funds for the Mayor's chosen charities, which includes The Rowans Hospice. Entrance £2.00 on the door includes coffee and biscuits. In addition there will be various Craft Stalls plus Bring & Buy, there will also be a Raffle.
Spring Fair

Voices Concert is a coming-together of some super groups in aid of Dorothy's Dream, The Rowans Hospice at Home Appeal.
Those appearing are Vocalise - the Horndean Technology College Choir, Spinnaker Chorus, Solent Male Voice Choir, The Rock Choir and Portsmouth Grammar School Glee Club.

Bhutan Trek

Join a unique trek to the Kingdom of the Thunder Dragon!
The Rowans Hospice is the first UK Charity to offer this unique bespoke 15 day trek in Bhutan! With mules and yaks visiting the sacred Mt Jhomolhari, the specular Tiger's Nest Monastery. Walking through bamboo forests and alpine meadows, passing dzongs - fortified monasteries, waterfalls and cross Yale La Pass at 4950m, the highest point of the trek. With a chance to meet the friendly Bhutan people and get involved in a community project that complements the Royal Government's vision in achieving Peace, Prosperity and Happiness.

Give your Classic Vehicle an run and raise funds for charity!
The Mayor & Mayoress of Havant, Councillor Ken Smith and Mrs Hazel Smith, invite all owners of classic vehicles to their Classic Vehicle Run to raise funds for the Mayor's chosen charities, which includes 'Dorothy's Dream', The Rowan's 'Hospice at Home' appeal.
Open to all vehicles up to and including 1986. At Fort Purbrook, which will be open from 11.00am to 4.00pm, there will be a Fun Day with activities and entertainment for all ages.
This event is supported by Fort Purbrook and sponsored by Morgan Sindall.
Charity Cycle Ride

Philip Newman and three friends, all amateur cyclists, are cycling over 160 miles over three days following the route of the Thames from its source, through London, to the Thames Barrier. By this Charity Cycle Ride they hope to raise around £3,000 to be distributed equally between three charities, Practical Action, Help for Heroes and The Rowans Hospice.

Dragon Boat Festival

Two days of fun at the Dragon Boat Festival.
Organised by Portsmouth and Southsea Rotary Club this exciting Dragon Boat Festival is now an annual established event. Proceeds go towards the charities supported by Rotary including The Rowans Hospice.
Teams are of 15-20 people or you can enter as an individual and you will be found a team.

Abseil Challenge
19 May 2012 - at Millgate House alongside Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard,
Join our Guiness World Record Holder,Doris Long, hoping to renew her title.
Participants, both young and old, are wanted to take the Abseil Challenge and brave the 200ft descent (20 storey's) down Millgate House in Portsmouth. At the phenomenal age of 98 Doris hopes to break her own Guinness World Record and raise vital funds for the work of The Rowans Hospice.
To join Doris simply complete a Registration Form which is now available in our shops and Reception. Also one can be downloaded here. Send in the completed form, together with your registration fee of just £12.50 as soon as possible. All training and equipment included.There is plenty of space for cheering spectors as they descend!
Open to all ages and abilities, this is a great opportunity for groups who can train, descend and support each other.

A super way to raise funds for The Rowans Hospice,
Steve and Martin Cutter are going on a little bimble with the dogs to raise a few pounds for The Rowans Hospice. They are walking 465 miles of the GR34 Brittany Coastal Path, from Roscoff to Lorient from 24th May until mid June..ish. Throughout which they be camping each night and taking everything they need with them for the trip.
Being self employed they have effectively donated a months wages each and are covering all the costs of going. Therefore any money donated will go to the Rowans in full. Please consider how much a month of peace and quiet without them is worth to you and dig deep in those pockets!

Moonlit Memories Walk

Sign up for a 5-mile walk or a 12-mile challenge,
Walk under the stars and raise money for The Rowans Hospice by taking part in our fifth anniversary Moonlit Memories Walk.
Whether you choose the shorter 5-mile route or the longer 12-mile route it will include Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, where HMS Victory will be especially lit up. Southsea Seafront and the Spinnaker Tower will also be illuminated.
The Anglican Cathedral in Old Portsmouth will be open for those who wish to light a candle in memory of someone.

Our annual much loved fund raising event!
The Rowans Hospice invites exhibitors to have a stall at our much loved and popular Summer Fete. The variety of stalls and entertainment combined with an atmosphere reflecting real community spirit attracts thousands of visitors to this event. Visitors enjoy free entry, organised car parking and free entertainment in the arena.
If you wish to exhibit please complete, sign and return the 'Exhibitor Booking' form by 21st May. Exhibitor fees support the services that The Rowans Hospice provides patients and their families. Any gifts you wish to donate for our Grand Summer Draw which will be drawn by the Mayor of Havant at our fete would be greatly appreciated.
A final Exhibitors Pack detailing the site map, event programme and posters will be forwarded once all exhibitors are confirmed.

Great South Run

Enjoy and raise funds for The Rowans Hospice!
We are always looking for keen runners or supporters who are up for a challenge to help raise awareness and much needed funds for our hospice. If you would like to take part in the Great South Run or join one of our cheering points we'd love to hear from you.
We currently have several runners who competed in 2011 who have confirmed for 2012 and are busy fundraising for us. All our runners receive a running vest and a fundraising pack. Then on the day we have two dedicated cheer points to cheer you on as well as a marquee in the charity village offering refreshments and a place to meet up with fellow runners, family and friends.
"I am working very hard to get myself ready for the 10 miles that lie ahead. Because I am running for The Rowans, it has given me more motivation to complete the run. Ollie, my mother-in-law, was with you in October 2000, had an extremely peaceful time whilst there. We were so grateful for what you did for her in her last few days. That is why I am doing this, not only for Ollie, but for a fantastic cause."

After which we are pleased to announce that as from 27 February the opening of our Furniture Warehouse will be on a daily basis, Monday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Come along and support your local Hospice. We have a wide variety of furniture, paintings and bric-a-brac.
